ARTIFICIAL OR LIVE TREE?

In recent years, many people have decided not to buy a live tree with the good intention that this will help the environment. The opposite is true. Buying an artificial tree supports the production of plastic products. The production of an artificial tree usually requires the use of PVC, made from oil, not from recycled material. The argument that it is more environmentally-friendly to use an artificial tree is therefore incorrect. If trees were not cut, they would never grow. Purposefully-created Christmas tree plantations also create an environment for animal life and provide values similar to traditional woods.

NORDMANN FIR – ABIES NORDMANNIANA

It is one of the best-selling Christmas trees in Europe, together with the Blue Spruce.

The needles are dark-green and shiny.

These firs grow very regularly, so for many people they have become the symbol of a Christmas tree.

BLUE SPRUCE – PICEA PUNGENS

The tree comes from the Rocky Mountains in North America.

It occurs in multiple varieties from dark-green to silver.

Its needles are very prickly, but they retain a fresh appearance for a long time and do not fall off much.

NORWAY SPRUCE – PICEA ABIES

A traditional Christmas tree. It is popular in many households thanks to its low price and simple beauty.

Its main disadvantages include the fact that it soon sheds its needles in permanently heated spaces.

The low price is the advantage.
